Abstract

Kegiatan pelaksanaan magang dilakukan di UD Mitra Kita Leather, Mojokerto, Jawa Timur. Kegiatan magang ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh modifikasi formulasi dyeing terhadap hasil uji ketahanan gosok cat dasar. Bahan baku yang digunakan adalah kulit split wet blue dengan kualitas A, B, tebal 1,2-1,4 mm, dan luas 18 sqft. Bahan pembantu yang digunakan pada proses dyeing adalah Tamol M dan Sincal DR. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyusunan Tugas Akhir ini yaitu metode pengamatan, wawancara, praktek kerja langsung, dan studi pustaka. Penambahan jumlah Tamol M dilakukan untuk membantu proses masuknya dyestuff ke dalam kulit dan meratakan warna pada permukaan kulit. Penambahan Sincal DR sebagai fixing agent dilakukan untuk meningkatkan fiksasi dengan serat kulit, dan meningkatkan ketahanan gosok kulit. Berdasarkan hasil uji yang dilakukan di BBKKP sebelum dilakukan modifikasi formulasi dyeing ketahanan gosoknya menunjukkan nilai 3 (basah, dan kering) yang artinya kulit mengalami kelunturan, sedangkan setelah dilakukan modifikasi formulasi dyeing hasil uji ketahanan gosoknya menunjukkan nilai 3/4 (basah), 5 (kering) yang artinya kulit tidak mengalami kelunturan. Hasil dari modifikasi formulasi tersebut telah memenuhi standar SNI 0251-1989-A. Internship activity were held in UD Mitra Kita Leather, Mojokerto Jawa Timur. The internship aimed for knowing modification formula effect to scrub resistance test. The raw materials were split wet blue leather with A, B quality, thick 1,2-1,4 mm, and width 18 sqft. Dyeing process material were the additional of Tamol M, and Sincal DR. The method of making final project were observation, interview, live work practice, and literature studying. The dyeing process materials were the additional of Tamol M (penetrator), and Sincal DR (fixing agent) the function of additional Tamol M as penetrator were to help dyestuff penetrate to leather and leveling colour in nerf side. The function of additional Sincal DR as fixing agent were to fixing with fiber leather, and upgrading the scrub resistance. The test result of dyeing process before modification formulation done in BBKP with dry and wet cloth scrub resistance test methode has a grey scale number of 3 which meant medium fade. Beside that the test result of dyeing process after modification formulation has a grey scale number of 3/4 for wet cloth and 5 of grey scale for wet cloth which meant the leather were not fade. The result of modification formulation were fulfilling the standar of SNI 0251-1989-A.
