Abstract
Karya akhir yang dilaksanakan di CV Yogya Karya Andini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bahan syntan combination terhadap kepadatan kulit. Bahan baku yang digunakan untuk proses trial adalah setengah side kulit sapi wet blue kualitas C dengan tebal shaving 1,5mm, luas luas 6,9sqft, berat 900gr. Penambahan bahan syntan combination yang digunakan ialah Intan OF. Penggunaan Intan OF sebanyak 3%. Tahapan proses pasca tanning yang dilakukan meliputi proses sortasi, shaving, weighing, wetting back, netralisasi, retanning, fatliquoring, fiksasi, dan diakhiri dengan proses washing serta kontrol proses dilakukan hampir pada setiap tahapan proses. Penggunaan Intan OF dimasukkan pada proses retanning II di dalam drum proses selama 120 menit, tanpa merubah proses yang lainnya. Pengujian dilakukan pada saat kulit sudah menjadi crust. Hasil dari pengujian organoleptis sebelum perbaikan formulasi menghasilkan kulit yang kurang padat dan kurang berisi serta pegangan tidak merata, sedangkan hasil kulit setelah dilakukan perbaikan formulasi kulit terasa lebih terisi, padat, dan pegangan yang merata. Hasil pengujian fisis pada kulit crust sebelum perbaikan didapat kekuatan sobek 27kg/cm, suhu kerut 86⁰C, kekuatan tarik 120,95kg/cm2, perpanjangan putus 72,74%, sedangkan sesudah perbaikan formulasi didapat kekuatan sobek 65,30kg/cm, suhu kerut 83,33⁰C, kekuatan tarik 194,42kg/cm2, perpanjangan putus 49,67%. Berdasarkan hasil uji fisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menambah syntan combination menambah kepadatan kulit serta meningkatkan kualitas kulit sehingga telah memenuhi permintaan customer dan sesuai dengan SNI Nomor 06-4036-1996 yaitu kekuatan sobek minimum 24,5kg/cm, suhu kerut masak, kekuatan tarik minimum 132,5 kg/cm2, perpanjangan putus maksimal 80%. The final work carried out at CV Yogya Karya Andini, Yogyakarta aims to find out the effect of using syntan combination on skin density.The raw material used for the trial process is a half the side of wet blue C leather with 1,5 mm thick, wide area of 6,9 sqft, and 900gr weight. The addition of the syntan combination material used Intan OF as much as 3%. Stage of pasca tanning process were sorting, shaving, weighing, wetting back, neutralization, retanning, fatliquoring, fixation, and ending with washing and contol process carried out at almost every stage of the process.The used Intan OF, inserted in the retanning II process in the drum for 120 minutes, without changing the other process.Testing is done at the time the skin had become crust. The result of organoleptic testing to formulation improvement resulted less dense and less dry skin and uneven grip, whereas the skin result after formulation improvement was full and the handle was evenly distributed. The result of physical examination on crust skin before formulation improvement tear strenght of 27kg/cm, wrinkle temperature of 86⁰C, tensile strenght 120,95kg/cm2, elongasi 72,74%, whereas after formulation tear stength 60,30kg/cm, wrinkle temperature of 83,33⁰C, tensile strength 194,42kg/cm2, elongasi of 49,67%. Based on the resuIt of physical test, it can be conclude that by adding syntan combination can increase the density of skin and improve the quality of the skin so, that it has met the demand of customers in accordance with SNI number 06-4036-1996.
