Abstract

Kegiatan pelaksanaan karya akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan polyurethane dispersion pada finishing top coat untuk perbaikan ketahanan gosok kulit sapi artikel upholstery di PT Lembah Tidar Jaya Magelang. Materi yang digunakan adalah kulit crust sapi bagian belly kualitas C dengan tebal 1,0- 1,4 mm dan jumlah 2 kulit masing masing 2 sqft. Sedangkan bahan pembantu yang digunakan saat proses finishing top coat yaitu polyurethane dispersion (Melio Top FL 03). Metode yang digunakan dalam proses pengecatan cat tutup yaitu metode spray. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi, interview, praktek kerja langsung, studi pustaka.Hasil Kulit yang diperoleh berwarna hitam, brmotif, permukaan licin dengan ketahanan gosok yang baik. Faktor Faktor yang mempengaruhi ketahanan gosok cat tutup adalah pemilihan jenis bahan finishing,urutan proses finishing dan metode finishing. Hasil pengujian kulit sapi upholstery terkait penggunaan bahan polyurethane dispersion terhadap ketahanan gosok cat tutup yang dilakukan secara organoleptis telah memenuhi syarat karena tidak adanya noda yang menempel pada kain saat digosok selama pengulangan 10 kali. Pengujian dilanjutkan di BBKKP untuk mendapatkan hasil yang terukur. Pengujian ketahanan gosok cat tutup dari hasil trial kulit upholstery dengan standar ISO 20433 : 2012 didapatkan hasil sampel bahwa dengan kondisi kain kering dan basah sebelum penggunaan polyurethane dispersion menunjukkan nilai ketahanan gosok 4/5 dan 4/5, sedangkan untuk kulit setelah penggunaan polyurethane dispersion dengan kondisi kain kering dan basah menunjukkan nilai ketahanan gosok 5 dan 4/5. Penggunaan bahan polyurethane dispersion pada formulasi finishing kulit upholstery menghasikan ketahanan gosok yang lebih baik, sehingga apabila dibandingkan dengan standar customer akan sesuai dan dapat digunakan untuk bahan baku kulit upholstery. The purpose of this final project is to determine the effect of using polyurethane dispersion on finishing top coat to improve the resistance of cow skin rubbing upholstery articles at PT Lembah Tidar Jaya Magelang. The material used was cow crust leather, quality belly part C with a thickness of 1.0 to 1.4 mm and the number of 2 skins each 2 sqft. While the auxiliary materials used during the top coat finishing process are polyurethane dispersion (Melio Top FL 03). The method used in the paint painting process is the spray method. The method used is the method of observation, interviews, direct work practices, literature study. The results of the skin obtained are black, bromotif, slippery surface with good rub resistance. Factors that influence the resilience of paint cover polish are the choice of the type of finishing material, the order of the finishing process and the finishing method. The results of upholstery cow skin testing related to the use of polyurethane dispersion materials on the resilience of lid paint scrub which was carried out organoleptically fulfilled the requirements due to the absence of stains attached to the fabric when rubbed during repetition 10 times. The test is continued at the CLRP to get measurable results. The test results of the rubbing paint cover resistance from the upholstery skin trial with ISO 20433: 2012 standard showed that with the condition of dry and wet cloth before the use of polyurethane dispersion showed rubbing resistance values 4/5 and 4/5, while for the skin after using polyurethane dispersion with the condition of dry and wet fabrics shows rubbing resistance values 5 and 4/5. The use of polyurethane dispersion materials in upholstery finishing skin formulations results in better rub resistance, so that when compared to customer standards it will be suitable and can be used for upholstery leather raw materials.
