Abstract

PT Brodo Ganesha Indonesia adalah salah satu perusahaan industri retail fashion. Dalam mengembangkan produknya, PT Brodo Ganesha Indonesia menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dari target yang dituju. Salah satu target brodo adalah siswa SMA. Bagi seorang siswa, tas sekolah merupakan salah satu alat bantu dalam aktivitas carrying setiap hari. Saat ini brodo telah menyediakan produk tas dengan nama artikel Desent. Tas ini memiliki kompartemen utama, tempat laptop, kompartemen quick acces dan tempat botol minum. Akan tetapi, tas ini masih ada beberapa kekurangan yang perlu direvisi yaitu kurangnya kompartemen tambahan pada kantong utamanya sehingga mengakibatkan penempatan barang kurang rapi dan penutup tas kurang safe, sehingga perlu pengembangan dengan menggunakan konsep modular dalam bentuk totebag. Tugas Akhir ini berfokus pada (1) pengembangan desain tas sekolah dan (2) proses pembuatan produk. Metode yang digunakan dalam Tugas Akhir ini adalah metode design thinking oleh Institute of Design Stanford University (2009) yang meliputi 5 tahapan yaitu Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype dan Test. Dari tahapan tersebut didapatkan informasi terkait perlengkapan yang dibawa saat sekolah, aktivitas setelah sekolah, kendaraan yang digunakan untuk sekolah, sistem kegiatan belajar mengajar dan pendapat tentang konsep modular. Selain itu juga didapatkan poin-poin ide dari brainstorming kemudian pembuatan sketsa dan diwujudkan dalam bentuk prototype. In developing its products, PT Brodo Ganesha Indonesia adjusts to the needs of the intended target. One of Brodo's targets is high school students. For a student, a school bag is one of the tools used in carrying goods for school activities. Currently, Brodo has provided a bag product named "Desent." This bag has a main compartment, a laptop slot, a quick access compartment, and a water bottle holder. However, the bag still has several shortcomings that need to be revised, namely the lack of additional compartments in its main pocket which leads to less organized item placement and an insufficiently secure bag cover. Therefore, there's a need for development using the modular concept in the form of a tote bag. This Final Assignment focuses on (1) the development of school bag design and (2) the product manufacturing process. The method used in this Final Assignment is the design thinking method by the Institute of Design Stanford University (2009), which encompasses 5 stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. From these stages, information obtained was regarding the items carried to school, activities after school, the transportation used for school, the teaching and learning system, and opinions about the modular concept. Additionally, points of ideas were generated from brainstorming, followed by sketch creation and realization in the form of a prototype. Keywords: School Bag, Development, Modular, Design Thinking.
