Abstract

Dalam pelaksanaan magang industri di Jogja Kurnia Leather ditemukan masalah salah satunya adanya penurunan luas kulit artikel batting glove yang melebihi standar 6%. Setelah pendalaman lebih lanjut pada proses produksi diketahui bahwa tidak adanya kontrol proses sehingga terjadi perubahan sifat pada kulit khususnya luas kulit. Dilakukanlah analisis yang bertujuan untuk meminimalisir penurunan luas kulit batting glove di Jogja Kurnia Leather. Material yang digunakan adalah kulit kambing pikel kualitas V dengan tebal 0,8 mm dengan total 1.292 lembar 10.093 sqft. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi kepustakan. Hasil yang didapat menunjukan data persentase penurunan luas kulit untuk lot 1 adalah 11,18%, lot 2 adalah 11,31% dan lot 3 adalah 9,39%. Penyebab penurunan luas kulit adalah proses fiksasi yang terlalu cepat, kematangan kulit yang tidak diketahui, proses trimming, penggunaan air panas saat fatliquoring. Penanganan yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan menerapkan kontrol proses disetiap proses khususnya tanning. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah bahwa pentingnya dilakukan kontrol proses setiap tahapan untuk meminimalisir penurunan luas kulit. In the intership program at Jogja Kurnia Leather founded a problem in the batting glove article production that the area of the leather decreased out of standart 6%. After further investigation found out that there is no control process in the production and lead to area decreation. The analysis have been done with purpose to minimalizing area decreation for batting glove in Jogja Kurnia Leather. Material that used was 1.292 goat skin grade V with substance 0,8 mm and area 10,093 sqft. The Method that used was observation, interview, and literature study. The result that obtained was for lot 1 has area deceration 11,18%, for lot 2 was 11,31% and for lot 3 was 9,3%. Its caused by fixation process that too fast, trimming process, and hot water that used in fatliquoring. The repair that could be done with application of control process for each process particularly tanning process. For the conclution it is necessary to do control prcess in each process to minimalizing area decreation of leather.
