Abstract

Pengelolaan persediaan bahan baku yang baik dapat memperlancar proses produksi serta meminimalkan terjadinya penumpukan material. Perencanaan persediaan bahan baku di PT Lumina Packaging belum dilakukan dengan tepat dan sistematis, sehingga terjadi penumpukan material yang dapat menghambat perputaran modal serta memperbesar risiko kerusakan material yang disimpan. Penggunaan metode MRP dengan berbagai teknik lot sizing bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah material yang dibutuhkan dan mampu mengurangi penumpukan material serta menghemat biaya persediaan sehingga dapat memperlancar perputaran modal. Teknik lot sizing yang digunakan dalam pemecahan masalah yaitu Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ), Lot For Lot (LFL), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). Dari ketiga teknik tersebut, teknik yang sesuai dengan kondisi perusahaan adalah FOQ dan LFL. Teknik FOQ sesuai digunakan ketika harga material yang dipesan tergantung pada jumlah pemesanan, sedangkan teknik LFL sesuai digunakan ketika harga material tidak ditentukan dari banyaknya pemesanan. Teknik lot sizing yang memberikan total persediaan paling minimum adalah LFL. Total biaya persediaan menggunakan teknik LFL adalah sebesar Rp. 1.696.670.000 dari keseluruhan material yang dianalisis. Jika total biaya persediaan menggunakan teknik LFL dibandingkan dengan perusahaan, teknik LFL mampu menghemat biaya persediaan sekitar 47%. Good management of raw material inventories can facilitate the production process and reduce overstock of the material. However, the inventory planning at PT Lumina Packaging doesn’t have systematic material inventory that causes overstock of the material, inhibit capital turnover and increase the risk of material damage. This paper aims to find out how to make the right inventory planning using the MRP method with various lot sizing techniques to determine the amount of material needed, thereby the problem can be resolved. The lot sizing techniques used are Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ), Lot For Lot (LFL) and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). The results showed that FOQ and LFL could be used in the company. FOQ is better to use when the price of the material determined by the order quantity, while LFL is used for expensive material. Moreover, the result indicated that the lot sizing technique which had a minimum total inventory was LFL. The amount of total inventory cost by LFL technique was Rp. 1,696,670,000 for all materials analyzed. When compared total inventory cost by LFL with the company, the LFL technique could save inventory costs by more or less 47%.
