Abstract

UMKM Geoge Leather adalah salah satu usaha mikro kecil dan menengah yang bergerak di bidang kerajinan kulit terutama produksi tas dan dompet yang berlokasi di Ponorogo, Jawa Timur. Salah satu produk UMKM Geoge Leather adalah mengkombinasikan material kayu dan kulit untuk menjadi sebuah tas untuk sehari-hari atau acara formal ataupun semi formal. Tujuan Tugas Akhir ini adalah melakukan pengembangan desain atas dasar fenomena overweight serta meningkatkan nilai estika desain tas kulit mix kayu di Geoge Leather. Tahapan yang dilakukan antara lain sense intent, know context, know people, frame insight, explore concept, frame solutions dan realize offering. Pada produk tas yang dihasilkan memiliki permasalahan terlalu berat untuk sehari-hari dan desain tas yang besar serta kurang elegan untuk acara formal atau semi formal. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dilakukan pengembangan desain dengan mengubah ukuran tas dan model desain sehingga cocok untuk acara formal atau semi formal. Kata kunci: tas, desain, overweight, estetika SME Geoge Leather is one of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) engaged in leather crafts, especially the production of bags and wallets, located in Ponorogo, East Java. One of Geoge Leather's SME products is combining wood and leather materials to become a bag for everyday or formal or semi-formal events. The aim of this final project is to develop a design based on the overweight phenomenon and to increase the aesthetic value of the design of a mixed-wood leather bag in Geoge Leather. The steps taken include sense intent, know context, know people, frame insight, explore concepts, frame solutions and realize offerings. The resulting bag product has the problem of being too heavy for everyday use and the bag design is large and less elegant for formal or semi-formal events. To overcome these problems, design development is carried out by changing the size of the bag and the design model so that it is suitable for formal or semi-formal events.
