Abstract

PT Utaliya, located in Tangerang, is a company engaged in the footwear sector. PT Utaliya produces various types of shoes ranging from Oxford, Derby, Boot, Moccasin, Casual, etc. There are several constructions used in the shoe making process, such as Goodyaer welt, Cementing, and Mocasin. To produce the product that consumers want, the company has a production process that starts from patterning, cutting, sewing, assembling, lasting, finishing, and pacing. The preparation of this final project aims to find out the causes of dirty shoes problems in the finishing process. The finishing process begins with the installation of heels, edge cleaning, edge smoothing process, welt coloring process, cleaning process, shoe coloring, polishing process, insole installation process. From the finishing process it is known the cause of the problem of dirty shos, and makes suggestions for the problems that occur. The methods used are observation, interviews, documentation, and literature. The method used in solving the problem is a fishbone diagram by knowing cause and effect and looking for solutions to problems to get optimal results. Problem solving is done by changing the brush regularly to minimize the problems that occur
