Abstract

PT Sempurnaindah Multinusantara is a company that produces imitation leather, in its production this company applies a make to order production system so that the company will produce imitation leather for a number of customer requests with a deadline determined by the buyer. The problems found at PT Sempurnaindah Multinusantara are the output or production results do not reach the target, the occurrence of production is not on time, time is not efficient because it has not been made in writing. The improvement method used is the Line balancing method, which aims to overcome problems and reduce inefficient time. Line balancing needs to be made in the production process because without Line balancing at work stations, the production process does not run effectively and efficiently. The result of the Line balancing calculation is that the production target has been achieved from the 3 working days production target set by the buyer to 2.7 working days. The results show that line balancing can save production time by 0.3 working days or 2.1 hours, so that production is more effective and 10% more efficient than the production target.
