Abstract

Tugas akhir yang berjudul pengaruh penyimpanan terhadap kualitas kulit wet blue sapi untuk artikel suede di UD Mitr Kita Leather bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kulit wet blue yang disimpan agar memenuhi standart costumer. Materi yang digunakan adalah kulit sebanyak 305 side sapi wetblue dalam 3 palet dengan total luas 4.575 sqft. Metode yang digunakan adalah teknik penyimpanan dengan tahapan, pengaruh waktu penyimpanan, pengaruh suhu dan kelembaban pada tempat penyimpanan, dan juga kebersihan tempat penyimpanan. Hasil yang didapat menunjukan selama 5 bulan penyimpanan dari 60 kulit kualitas B dan C tersisa 52 kulit wet blue sapi kualitas B dan C, setelah 6 bulan 59 kulit kualitas B da C tersisa 47 side kulit wet blue sapi kualitas B da C, setelah 7 bulan penyimpanan dari 60 kulit kualitas A, B, dan C tersisa 41 kulit wet blue sapi kualitas C, suhu yang seharusnya sekitar 10 ºC sampai 25 ºC malah berada pada 29 ºC dan mengakibatkan kulit wet blue sapi yang disimpan mengalami penurunan kualitas, tempat penyimpanan yang tidak higienis akibatnya bisa tumbuh jamur dan muncul noda kotoran. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyimpanan dalam jangka waktu 5 bulan, suhu ruang penyimpanan antara 10 ºC sampai 25 ºC, dan kondisi tempat penyimpanan yang higienis dapat meningkatkan kualitas kulit wet blue sapi secara fisis dan biologis agar bisa digunakan untuk artikel suede yang sesuai dengan standart costumer. The problem that has to face in UD Mitra Kita Leather was a downgrade of quality after came out from the warehouse. After further investigation in the production process, it knows that the condition of the warehouse was not optimal for storage with temperature 29°C that causes the defect appears and downgrade the quality. The investigation has been done with a purpose for reducing the downgrade of quality that was happened in storage so the wet blue leather quality of the suede article is still safe. The materials were 305 sides of wet blue cow leather in 3 palettes with a total of 4.575 sqft of wide. The method was observation, interview, literature studying and problem-solving. The result shows that downgrade quality towards time storage for quality B and C decreased for 5 months by 40% and 8%, for 6 months by 54,4% and 12,5%, for 7 months by 100% and 22,6%. The cause of the defect to the leather was spue, bacteria, the fleas and decay, chemical stains, dirt stains, and fungi. Therefore the repairing process is done to minimalizing the defect with managing the temperature and humidity, adding sewer, and Scheduling could maintain the quality of wet blue leather as long as in the warehouse.
