Abstract

Ikat pinggang adalah produk fashion dari kulit yang selalu dibutuhkan dalam berbagai kegiatan baik indoor maupun outdoor. CV DRUSSA merupakan produsen ikat pinggang berkualitas premium di Indonesia yang menjaga kualitas produknya dengan baik. Tidak hanya kualitas, pengerjaan dan finishing produk yang maksimal merupakan ciri khas perusahaan. Dari hasil pengamatan, ditemukan cacat dalam proses finishing tepi tali ikat pinggang berupa bercak dan luberan cat. Karya akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab cacat tersebut dan mencari solusi dari cacat dalam proses finishing tepi ikat pinggang. Materi yang diamati dalam karya akhir ini adalah ikat pinggang double layer dengan material kulit pull up dan finishing tepi menggunakan Starlux di CV DRUSSA. Metode pemecahan masalah dilakukan dengan eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, pengamatan dan studi literatur. Penyebab defek atau cacat adalah aplikator finishing, kekentalan cat finishing, dan tindak pembersihan yang kurang baik. Solusi berdasarkan eksperimen yang telah dilakukan yaitu dengan melakukan pembersihan menggunakan alkohol, mengganti aplikator finishing menggunakan kuas berujung rata, dan menutup bagian permukaan tali ikat pinggang dengan papertape 1 mm di bawah garis batas finishing. Belts are fashion leather products that are always needed in various activities both indoors and outdoors. CV DRUSSA is a premium quality belt manufacturer in Indonesia that maintains good quality product. Not only the quality, the workmanship and maximum product finishing are the characteristics of the company. From the results of the observation, defects were found in the finishing process of the belt strap edge wich were pocks and overflow of paint. This final work aims to find out the cause of the defect and find the solution of defects in the process of finishing the belt edge. The material observed in this final work is a double layer belt with pull up leather material and edge finishing using Starlux on CV DRUSSA. The problem solving method is done by experiments. Data collection is done by interview, observation, observation and study of literature. The causes of defects are finishing applicators, finishing paint thickness, and bad cleaning action. The solution based on the experiments that have been done is by cleaning using alcohol, replacing the finishing applicator using a flat-tipped brush, and covering the surface of the belt with a papertape 1 mm below the finishing line.
