Abstract

PT Alas Mitra Setia is a company that produces customized insole products with additional basic materials from original Germany materials, as well customized sandals and sandals (according to the customer's needs or foot problems). Based on the results of observations in the assembling section at the company, one of the problems was found, namely open bonding in the assembling process of customized sandals. The aim of this final assignment is to determine the causal factors and find a solution to the open bonding problem in the assembling process of customized sandals. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. Based on the cause - effect diagram, problems are caused by human factors, methods and materials. The problem solving method used was an experimental method by trying different gluing on the right and left sides of the sandals on mesh and EVA material twice to test material absorption and thinning the Velcro on the sandal strap. The author's first experiment carried out different gluing on the right and left sides of the sandals with EVA and mesh materials to determine the impregnation of the glue and stickiness, namely by using mixed glue and original glue. In the second experiment, the author carried out the same experiment as the first experiment, but the main difference was thinning the Velcro on the sandal strap to reduce thickening during the bonding process. The results of the experiment were said to be quite successful with the best results being the results of the last experiment. Keywords: Assembling, Upper, Glue
