Abstract

ABSTRAK PT Mainest Gaya Kreatif is a footwear company that produces shoes with formal, running, and casual models. Defect problems that occur in the assembling part are open bonding, the back is next high, the side is high next to the side, and wrinkles in the material. The purpose of the preparation of this Final Project is to find out the problems in the assembling process, identify the causes of open bonding of formal shoes in Arjuna's article, and to discuss solutions to open bonding problems. The data collection method used is primary data collection, namely observation, interview techniques, and documentation data in the form of files/photos. Meanwhile, the secondary data collection method is literature study. The results obtained during the study were that the most open bonding defects compared to other types of defects and greatly affected the quality. The cause of this open bonding problem in the process of assembling formal shoes in Arjuna's article is due to several factors, method factors, namely uneven application of greco glue, brushes and glue containers are not cleaned, method factors, namely machine temperature not in accordance with SOPs, human factors, namely lack of skills in operators, and lack of understanding of operator work regulations. The solution to the open bonding problem is from the method factor of the author proposing SOP for the process of applying the primer on the outsole and the upper and outer gluing process, as well as cleaning the brush and glue container or replacing it with a new one, the machine factor is the need to check the temperature of the conveyor and make a cheecksheet to help the supervisor, the human factor is the need to hold briefings and evaluations, then propose job training for assembling operators who have just entered work.
