Abstract

This final assignment discusses solving problems during the Tomkins shoe lasting process in the Assembling Department. The problem that occurred was a slanted lasting heel defect in the lasting process obtained during internship at PT Primarindo Asia Infrastructure Tbk. The aim of this final assignment is to identify problems, causal factors, provide solutions to problems in the lasting process and find out the results after implementing the solution. The material for this final assignment is about the problem of slanted lasting heel defects in the Tomkins shoe lasting process. The data collection method used is primary data collection consisting of observation, interviews, interviews and documentation, while the secondary data collection method is library study. This final assignment uses a statistical tool, namely a fishbone diagram to find out the causative factors. The causative factors of the problem of slanted heel lasting defects are the machine factor, namely no maintenance on the finishing machine, and the method factor, namely the absence of marking, side lasting not according to the gauge, and incomplete and unwritten SOP. Based on the existing causes, solutions and experiments are given in the form of machine inspection and maintenance schedules, giving marking for upper lasting, side lasting adjusted to gauges, and the creation of complete and written SOP. The results of the implementation of the solution carried out by experiments were able to overcome the problem of defective heel lasting tilt in Tomkins shoes.
