Abstract

Proses impregnasi adalah bagian dari proses finishing yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi daya serap cairan yaitu dengan pengendapan polimer secara terkontrol masuk pada lapisan dermis sekaligus dapat mengurangi loose defect pada kulit sapi crust artikel nappa upper. Bahan baku yang digunakan pada impregnasi adalah kulit crust sapi dengan ketebalan 1,1 mm sebanyak 2 potongan yang masing masing lembarnya memiliki luas 3 sqft, kualitas kulit D dan kulit kurang berisi atau loose. Bahan pembantu yang digunakan yaitu Polimer akrilik dengan merk dagang Icacril Y62, Icadrive 150 sebagai penetrator dan air. Tahapan persiapan dan pengaplikasian menggunakan alat berupa mesin buffing dengan nomor amplas 280, mesin roll coating, serta mesin vaccum dengan suhu 50oC, tekanan yang digunakan 50 Bar selama 2 menit. Jumlah penggunaan polimer akrilik sebelum perbaikan adalah 9% dan setelah perbaikan menambahnya menjadi 15%. Penambahan polimer akrilik ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap loose, keseragaman lapisan sekaligus dapat menaikkan sifat fisis kulit yaitu kekuatan tarik dan perpanjangan putus. Hasil uji kuat tarik sebelum perbaikan yaitu 158,22 kg/cm2 dan sesudah perbaikan 196,29 kg/cm2, sedangkan hasil uji perpanjangan putus sebelum perbaikan yaitu 42,90% dan sesudah perbaikan 43,64% . Sesuai SNI 4901-2009 nappa upper bahwa minimum kuat tarik adalah 200 kg/cm2 dan perpanjangan putus adalah 20-60%, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan upper leather. The impregnation process is part of the finishing process which aim to reduce the absorbance of the liquid by seatling the polymer in a contolled manner at the dermis layer while reducing the defect in the nappa upper crust cow leather. The raw materials used in impregnation is 2 pieces of crust leather in D quality with 1,1 mm thickness, the amount of which is about 3 sqft, the quality of skin D and the skin is loose. The auxiliary material is used are acrylic polymers with the trademark Icacril Y62, Icadrive 150 as penetrator and water. The stages of preparation and application using a tool in the form of 280 machines, roll coating machines, and vaccum machines material with a temperature of 50oC, the pressure used 50 Bars for 2 minutes. The amount acrylic polymer use before repair 9% and after repair use 15% acrylic polymer addition of acrylic polymers is very influential on loose, uniformity of the layer increase the physical properties of the leather, specifically tensile strength and elongation break. The result of the tensile strength test before repair were 160,16 kg/cm2 and after repair 201,34 kg/cm2 while the result of the elongation break test before repair were 43,705 and after repair 44,50%. Suitable with SNI 4901-2009 nappa upper that the minimum of tensile strength is 200 kg/cm2 and the elongation break is 20-60%, It can also be used as a raw material for making upper leather.
