Abstract

Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi tingkat kepecahan lapisan finishing dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kepecahan lapisan finishing pada artikel kulit split berdasarkan standar customer. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah observasi, wawancara, trial, studi pustaka serta literatur. Bahan baku yang digunakan untuk trial adalah kulit crust split sapi masing-masing 3 sqft sebanyak 3 lembar. Bahan yang digunakan adalah pigment black, Melio Resin A-777, Melio Resin A-822, Melio Resin A-948, LF 1200, LF 277, dan Thinner. Mesin yang digunakan adalah mesin buffing, mesin platting/embossing, spray gun dan drum milling. Tahapan proses yang dilakukan adalah selection, buffing, milling, 1st coat, embossing 1, 2nd coat, embossing 2, top coat, embossing 3, dan packaging. Trial dilakukan dengan membedakan jenis dan jumlah binder pada lapisan 1st coat dan 2nd coat. Binder yang digunakan berjumlah 150 gr Melio Resin A-822 untuk trial 1, 325 gr Melio Resin A-777 untuk trial 2. Hasil tingkat kepecahan ketiga perlakuan dilakukan uji one way ANOVA. Hasil pengujian organoleptis trial 1 mengalami kepecahan sedikit dan untuk trial 2 tidak mengalami kepecahan. Hasil pengujian fisis kepecahan/keretakan menunjukkan bahwa kulit dengan penggunaan penambahan binder Melio Resin A-777 daya beban pecahnya lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan penambahan binder Melio Resin A-822 (P<0,05). Berdasarkan data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan jumlah binder Melio Resin A-777 pada lapisan 2nd coat memberikan hasil terbaik berdasarkan pengujian organoleptis maupun fisis. This Final Project aims to reduce the level of breakdown of the finishing layer and find out the factors that influence the breakdown of finishing layers in split leather articles based on customer standards. The method used to collect data is observation, interview, trial, literature study and literature. The raw material used for the trial is the crust split cow leather, each 3 sqft in 3 pieces. The materials used are pigment black, Melio Resin A-777, Melio Resin A-822, Melio Resin A-948, LF 1200, LF 277, and Thinner. The machines used are buffing machines, platting / embossing machines, spray gun and drum milling. The stages of the process carried out were selection, buffing, milling, 1st coat, embossing 1, 2nd coat, embossing 2 top coat, embossing 3, and packaging. Trial is done by distinguishing the type and number of binders in the 1st coat and 2nd coat. The binders used were 150 gr Melio Resin A-822 for trial 1, 325 gr Melio Resin A-777 for trial 2. The results of the split level of the three treatments were one way ANOVA tests. The results of organoleptic trial 1 trial experienced a slight break and for trial 2 there was no breakdown. The results of split / fracture physical testing showed that the skin with the use of the Melio Resin A-777 binder had a higher breaking load compared to the addition of the Melio Resin A-822 binder (P <0.05). Based on these data, it can be concluded that the addition of the number of Melio Resin A-777 binders in the 2nd coat gives the best results based on both organoleptic and physical testing.
