Abstract

Kegiatan pelaksanaan magang bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pewarnaan dasar (dyeing) untuk artikel kulit nubuck upper premium DK red terhadap kualitas warna di PT. Karunia Catur Perkasa, Malang, Jawa Timur sebagai alternatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas warna kulit. Bahan baku yang digunakan adalah kulit crust dengan kualitas C, D, dan R. Bahan pembantu yang digunakan adalah Dermapel Red PBR, Sincal MS, Sincal DRA, asam formiat, dan Catalix GS. Proses pewarnaan dasar (dyeing) menggunakan metode sandwich dengan tahapan menentukan bahan fiksasi dan dyestuff, proses fiksasi pewarnaan dengan penambahan waktu dan persentase asam formiat sejumlah 4% selama 4 x 10 menit, serta acid dyes sejumlah 5% dapat menghasilkan kulit berwarna merah gelap dan warna tembus penampang. Hasil uji fisis didapati hasil ketahanan gosok cat basah yakni 2/3 (luntur) dan untuk ketahanan gosok cat kering adalah 3/4 (sedikit luntur). kulit nubuck upper premium DK red dinyatakan memenuhi SNI No. 06-4036-1996, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kulit nubuck warna premium DK red layak digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan produk upper shoes. Internship activity to know the dyeing process of nubuck upper premium DK red leaher articles for the quality of the color at PT. Karunia Catur Perkasa, Malang, Jawa Timur as alternate for upgrading the quality of the leather. The raw materials were crust leather with quality of C, D, and R. The chemicals were Dermapel Red PBR, Sincal MS, Sincal MS, Sincal DRA, formic acid, and Catalix GS. The dyeing process using sandwich method with determine fixation and dyestuff stage, fixation colour process with additional of time 4x10 minute, 4% formic acid, and 5% acid dyes can produced a red darker colour of leather and penetrated to leather. Physic test result shows that the scrub resistances of wet cloth were 2/3 which meant high fade and of the dry cloth were 3/4 which meant medium fade. Nubuck upper leather premium DK red leather says that the leather was fulfilling SNI No. 06-4036-1996 it can conclude that nubuck premium DK red leather can be used for upper shoes materials.
