Abstract
Mudguard adalah salah satu komponen yang digunakan mobil pada umumnya untuk melindungi body mesin mobil bagian belakang roda agar tidak mudah terkena mud atau lumpur ketika musim hujan. Selain dapat melindungi body mesin, Mudguard juga mencegah body mobil terkena debu atau kerak dari lumpur yang mudah mengering. Mudguard diproduksi dengan menggunakan bahan polipropilena, dengan perbandingan antara polipropilena murni dan polipropilena hasil daur ulang 1 : 1. Mudguard diproduksi dengan menggunakan mesin injection molding tonase 350T. Pembuatan produk mudguard butuh keakurasian produk yang sangat baik, sedikit saja cacat, mudguard tidak dapat dipasang maupun diinstalasi pada mobil. Pada pengamatan di PT YPTI, ditemukan cacat warpage pada produk mudguard. Warpage terjadi di lubang tepat untuk pemasangan baut dan klip guna menempelkan mudguard pada bumper dan body mobil. Warpage berbentuk seperti cekungan melengkung, yang apabila mudguard diaplikasikan, tidak akan bisa terpasang sempurna, karena apabila terkena goncangan, mudguard bisa lepas. Warpage dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal, antara lain waktu pendinginan (cooling time), tekanan balik (back pressure), atau kondisi mold yang kurang baik. Pada proses pembuatan mudguard, dilakukan trial untuk merubah parameter setting injection guna menghilangkan cacat warpage. Parameter setting standar yang ditetapkan pada mesin injection molding di PT YPTI untuk produksi mudguard adalah berat runner, berat satuan produk, cycle time, parameter cooling time, parameter back pressure, dan injection pressure. Cacat warpage terjadi ketika pengaturan waktu pendinginan sebesar 14 detik dan tekanan balik sebesar 55 bar. Setelah empat kali dilakukan trial, dihasilkan produk mudguard tanpa cacat warpage. Parameter setting injection yang digunakan yakni pada waktu pendinginan 16 detik dan tekanan balik sebesar 53,5 bar. Parameter yang sesuai akan menekan terjadinya cacat dan planning purchase order akan berjalan dengan yang direncanakan. Mudguard is one of the components used by cars in general to protect the engine body of the car behind the wheel so that it is not easily exposed to mud or mud during the rainy season. Besides being able to protect the engine body, the Mudguard also prevents the body of the car from being exposed to dust or crust from the mud that easily dries. Mudguards are produced using polypropylene material, with a comparison between pure polypropylene and recycled polypropylene 1: 1. Mudguards are produced using the 350T tonnage injection molding machine. Making mudguard products requires excellent product accuracy, few defects, mud guards cannot be installed or installed on the car. On observation at PT YPTI, warpage defects were found on mudguard products. Warpage occurs in the right hole for mounting nuts and bolts to attach the mudguard to the bumper and body of the car. The warpage is shaped like a curved basin, which when the mudguard is applied, will not be able to be installed perfectly, because if it is hit by a shock, the mudguard can escape. Warpage is influenced by several things, including cooling time, back pressure, or unfavorable mold conditions. In the process of making mudguards, a trial is conducted to change the injection setting parameters to eliminate warpage defects. The standard setting parameters set on the injection molding machine at PT YPTI for mudguard production are runner weight, product unit weight, cycle time, cooling time parameters, back pressure parameters, and injection pressure. Warpage defects occur when setting a cooling time of 14 seconds and a back pressure of 55 bar. After four trials, mudguard products were produced without warpage defects. The setting injection parameters used are 16 seconds cooling time and 53.5 bar back pressure. The appropriate parameters will reduce the occurrence of defects and the planning purchase order will go as planned
