Abstract

PT. Parkland World Indonesia II yang beralamat di Jl. Lanud Gorda Km. 68 Julang, Cikande, Serang, Banten merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam industri alas kaki khususnya sepatu sport. Materi yang menjadi kajian dalam karya akhir ini yaitu, “Usulan perbaikan masalah broken stitching pada proses perakitan upper sepatu anak artikel PC-GC 990 V5”. Tujuan dalam karya akhir adalah mengetahui permasalahan dalam proses perakitan upper, mengetahui penyebab permasalahan broken stitching, dan memberikan usulan perbaikan pada permasalahan broken stitching di proses perakitan upper sepatu anak artikel PC-GC 990 V5. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data primer yaitu dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan praktek kerja lapangan. Sedangkan untuk mengumpulkan data sekunder dilakukan dengan metode studi pustaka dan studi online. Cacat broken stitching sering ditemukan pada proses perakitan upper dan membutuhkan waktu lama untuk perbaikan. Jumlah cacat broken stitching mencapai 109 pasang dari total produksi 12.137 pasang sepatu. Terjadinya cacat broken stitching pada komponen variasi upper yaitu vamp o’lay dan saddle u’lay disebabkan oleh penumpukan double tape pada palet. Selain itu ukuran komponen vamp o’lay dan saddle u’lay yang tidak pas pada palet akibat tidak ada SOP (Standart Operational Procedure) pada bagian cutting, dan setting mesin yang belum sesuai dengan komponen mode yang akan dijahit. Usulan perbaikan untuk permasalahan broken stitching adalah membuat SOP untuk pergantian penempelan double tape, memastikan SOP terpasang pada mesin cutting, dan memastikan setting mesin jahit automatic (komputer) telah sesuai dengan komponen yang akan dijahit. PT. Parkland World Indonesia II is address at Jl. Lanud Gorda Km. 68 Julang, Cikande, Serang, Banten is a company engaged in the footwear industry especially sport shoes. The topic in this final assignment is "Improving broken stitching problems in the process of upper assembling the children shoes article PC-GC 990 V5". The purpose of the final assignment is to find out the problems in the upper assembly process, the causes of the broken stitching, and to suggest of improving in the upper assembly process of the children shoes article 990 V5 PC-GC. The method used to collect primary data is by conducting observations, interviews, documentation, and fieldwork. Whereas to collect secondary data is done by literature and online studies. Broken stitching is often found in the upper assembly process and require a long time to repair the upper. The number of broken stitching reached 109 pairs of the total production of 12.137 pairs of shoes. The occurrence of broken stitching on upper variation components, that is vamp o'lay and saddle u'lay is caused by double-sided stacking on the pallet. In addition, component size of them does not fit on the palette because there is no SOP (Standard Operational Procedure) in the cutting section, and machine settings that is not correct with the model to be sewn. The suggested improvement for the broken stitching problem is make an SOP for the replacement of double-sided attachment, ensure that the SOP is installed on the cutting machine, and ensure that the automatic sewing machine settings is correct with the component to be sewn.
