Abstract

The footwear industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth and contributed to economic growth, one of which is PT Primarindo Asia Infrastucture Tbk , which produces Tomkins Shinegan Jr shoes. However, a problem of adhesive leakage was found in the sublimation upper laminating process, causing a decline in quality, increased rework coasts, production time losses, and hindering the achievement of production targets. This thesis aim to identify the factors causing adhesive leakage defects and provide effective solutions to reduce such defects in the sublimation upper laminating process. The PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) method was employed, involving observation, interviews, documentation, analysis using pareto and fishbone diagram, and experiments to adjust the adhesive viscosity prevented the adhesive from easily penetrating the pores of the upper sublim material, keeping the upper surface clean and in line with company standards. It was concluded that the continuous application of the PDCA method is effective in reducing adhesive penetration defects, so as to improve the product quality and efficient production of sport shoes.
