Abstract

PT Bintang Indokarya Gemilang is one of the shoe companies in Indonesia with the Adidas shoe brand. The quality of shoes produced by PT Bintang Indokarya Gemilang pays attention to quality and standards in making shoe products starting from the material cutting process to finishing. During the internship, the author observed a problem in the sewing section, namely the reject vamp area on the Pedivista model shoes so that it does not comply with the standards set by Adidas buyers. The purpose of this Final Project is to solve the problem and provide a solution to the problem that occurred. Based on the observation results, a problem was found, namely the reject in the vamp area. The method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method with an experimental approach. The problem of the reject vamp area in the Pedisita shoe sewing process is due to the absence of the addition of vamp backer material (hardener) and changes in the toe box pattern. Factors that cause the emergence of reject vamp areas in the Pedivista shoe sewing process are due to the vamp material only containing mesh and lining, the toe box pattern is not appropriate and the operator does not understand the material. The solution to overcome the vamp area rejection that appears in the Pedivista shoe sewing process is through five experiments. To reduce the vamp area rejection in Pedivista shoes, experiment 5 is carried out by changing the toe box pattern and adding vamp backer material. The results of the Fit Test and Pedivista shoes are already mass-produced by the industry.
