Abstract

PT Porto Sejahtera Indonesia produces 1068M EVA sandals, but still faces the challenge of a high number of substandard (BS) products. This study aims to identify the root causes of BS products and determine appropriate quality control strategies. The methods used include Pareto diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, and 5W+1H analysis. The results indicate that the dominant causes of BS products are inappropriate machine settings, weak supervision, and suboptimal operator skills. Improvement strategies include machine resets, regular operator training, and the implementation of a control checklist. Implementing this strategy is expected to reduce the number of defective products and increase production efficiency. Going forward, regular evaluations and strengthening of the quality control system are required to maintain consistent product quality.
