Abstract

Efficiency in production is crucial as it directly affects costs, quality, and the competitiveness of a company. This study compares the efficiency between the use of single pallets and combine pallets in the stitching process of the toe cap mudguard component in the production of SL 72 OG W shoes at PT Tah Sung Hung, Brebes. The research method used is a comparative study with a time study approach, conducted through direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the use of combine pallets is more efficient than single pallets in terms of processing time and productivity. Combine pallets enable stitching of two components simultaneously in a single process, reducing cycle time and labor requirements. Calculations of takt time, human time, and machine time indicate that combine pallets provide a 11.7% increase in production efficiency compared to single pallets, with a production increase of 1,862 pairs during the testing period. Fishbone diagram analysis identifies human factors, methods, and machinery as the primary causes of inefficiency. Based on these findings, the use of combine pallets is recommended as an optimal solution to enhance the company's efficiency and competitiveness. This study provides a significant contribution to the development of more efficient footwear production methods in the manufacturing industry.
