Abstract

Pada proses produksi tas selempang di CV. Djoen Leather banyak mengalami defect pada jahitan sehingga banyak tas yang harus diperbaiki kembali (repair). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui terjadinya cacat pada jahitan dan menemukan solusi untuk mengatasi cacat pada jahitan. Materi yang menjadi objek dalam penelitian ini adalah jahitan tas di CV. Djoen Leather. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, interview, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Cacat jahitan yang terjadi pada tas selempang adalah jarak jahitan tidak konsisten, jahitan melompat, jahitan melewati batas, dan bahan tidak terjahit. Penyebab terjadinya defect yaitu metode yang digunakan belum menggunakan pembatas jahitan dan belum menggunakan corong jahitan dalam menjahit tas dan mesin jahit yang tegangan benangnya belum sesuai. Penyelesaian masalah pada jahitan tas yaitu dengan mengatur tegangan benang atas dan tegangan benang bawah, menggunakan pembatas jahitan dan corong jahitan. In sling bag production process at CV. Djoen Leather many of the defects in the stitching many bags must be repaired. This study was conducted to determine the factors that cause defects in stitches and give solution to overcome the problem. The material that became the object in this study was stitching bags at CV. Djoen Leather. Data collection methods used are interviews, documentation, and library studies. The stitching problems that occur in the bag are inconsistent stitching distance, jump stitching, over-crossing stitches, and unsewn material. Factors that cause defects are that the sewing methods have not used stitch guide and stitch funnel. The solution to the problem in the bag stitching is by adjusting tension of upper and bottom thread; using a stitch guide, and a stitch funnel.
