Abstract

Tujuan tugas akhir mahasiswa di UD. Sumber abadi Magetan adalah untuk mengetahui efek modifikasi dari penggunaan bahan retanning dalam proses retanning kulit CGB upper, untuk mengetahui nilai softness kulit CGB (corrected grain box) setelah modifikasi proses retanning, dan untuk mengetahui faktor mempengaruhi softness CGB (corrected grain box) upper. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyusunan tugas akhir meliputi pelaksanaan proses magang, perumusan masalah, pemecahan masalah melalui percobaan laboratorium atau trial, serta pengujian kelemasan kulit. Bahan baku yang digunakan adalah kulit wet blue sebanyak 1 side dengan ketebalan 1,6 mm. Hasil tes menunjukkan nilai rata-rata softness berkurang dari 3,10 ± 0,52 mm menjadi 2,68 ± 0,28 mm. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kelemasan adalah netralisasi, retanning, dan fatliquoring. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh setelah modifikasi proses retanning tanpa menggunakan rekrom adalah penggunaan bahan kimia menjadi lebih efisien karena hasil kelemasan yang diperoleh dari penggunaan bahan kromium pada proses retanning berbeda dengan hasil yang diperoleh ketika tidak menggunakan bahan kromium, tetapi perbedaan tersebut menunjukkan tidak signifikan.
