Abstract

Proses pembuatan produk kemasan galon dilakukan dengan menggunakan mesin Extrusion Blow Molding dengan menggunakan material polycarbonate. Tujuan penulisan tugas akhir ini mempelajari penyebab ketidaksesuaian ketebalan dinding botol. Ketebalan dinding botol yang tidak sesuai standar banyak terdapat pada area A3, ketebalan dinding yang tidak sesuai dianalisis menggunakan metode Stastistical Process Control (SPC) dengan alat peta kendali I-MR (I-MR control chart) dan diagram sebab akibat (fishbone). Hasil analisis grafik peta kendali I-MR terhadap ketidaksesuaian ketebalan dinding botol masih mengalami penyimpangan pada Individual Value <850,8 dan UCL 1128,7 pada Moving Range UCL <170,7. Faktor-faktor didalam diagram fishbone penyebab ketebalan dinding yang tidak sesuai standar diantaranya faktor mesin yaitu parison yang keluar miring dan material afkir yang tidak keluar dari Head Accumulator menyebabkan penyumbatan di Head Accumulator, faktor material yaitu kurangnya komposisi material Polycarbonate, faktor lingkungan yaitu ruangan produksi yang sempit. Solusi yang dapat dilakukan melakukan pengaturan die maupun pembersihan head accumulator secara berkala, penambahan komposisi material Polycarbonate, dan peluasan ruangan produksi. The process of making gallon packaging products is done using the Extrusion Blow Molding machine using polycarbonate material. The purpose of this thesis is to study the causes of bottle wall thickness incompatibility. The thickness of the bottle wall which is not in accordance with the standard is found in the A3 area, the wall thickness that is not suitable is analyzed using the Stastistical Process Control (SPC) method with the I-MR control chart and the causal diagram (fishbone). The results of the graph analysis of the I-MR control map against the incompatibility of bottle wall thickness still experience deviations on the LCL Individual Value <850.8 and UCL> 1128.7 on the Moving Range UCL <170.7. Factors in fishbone diagrams that cause wall thickness that are not in accordance with the standard include the parison engine factor which is sloping out and reject material that does not come out of the Accumulator Head causing blockage in the Head Accumulator, material factors namely unbalanced material composition, environmental factors namely narrow production rooms. The solutions that can be done are regulating the die and cleaning the accumulator head regularly, adding Polycarbonate material composition, and expanding the production room.
