Abstract
Karya akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbaikan top coat melalui optimasi penggunaan polyurethane terhadap ketahanan gosok pada artikel vektor 60 di PT Mastrotto Indonesia. Bahan baku yang digunakan dalam trial adalah kulit crust sapi kualitas G10-G20, tebal 1,1 sampai 1,4 mm dengan luas 15-20 sqft. Bahan kimia dikelompokkan dalam beberapa kategori bahan antara lain compound vektor, pasta colour, catalist, dan top coat. Bahan kimia pada lapisan top coat diantaranya water, polyurethane water based, hand modifier, Thickener dan basifying agent. Bahan utama yang digunakan untuk perbaikan lapisan top coat adalah polyurethane. Tahapan proses yang dilalui terdiri dari Buffing, milling, stucco, selection, emboss, spraying, rest, staking, spraying, rest, emboss, lab test, measuring, packaging. Metode perbaikan dilakukan dengan penambahan polyurethane pada lapisan top coat dengan 3 variasi perbandingan air : polyurethane diantaranya 2:1, 1:1, dan 1:2. Hasil dari perbandingan trial pertama 2:1 dan trial kedua 1:1 belum memenuhi standar uji. Setelah dilakukan trial ketiga dan pengujian diperoleh hasil uji ketahanan gosok yang baik pada perlakukan air: polyurethane 1:2. Hasil tersebut memenuhi standar PT Mastrotto Indonesia. This paper purpose to determine effect upgrading top coat optimimization by polyurethane to color fastness to rubbing test for article vektor 60 in PT Mastrotto Indonesia. The material used in trial is G10-G20 quality crust cow, 1.1 mm to 1.4 mm thick as much as 15-20 sqft. The chemical used are compound vektor, pasta colour, catalistt, and top coat. Chemicals on top coat is water, polyurethane water based, hand modifier, thickener dan basifying agent. Main chemicals for repair on top coat is polyurethane. The stages of process include buffing, milling, stucco, selection, emboss, spraying, rest, staking, spraying, rest, emboss, lab test, measuring, packaging. The repair method by adding polyurethane to the top coat with 3 variation ratio of water : polyurethane is 2:1, 1:1, 1:2. Result from ratio first trial 2:1 and second trial 1:1 obtained fail to color fastness to rubbing. After third trial and the result test obtained good to color fastness to rubbing on water : polyurethane 1:2. This result compatible with standard PT Mastrotto Indonesia.
