Abstract

CV. Drussa adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang pembuatan tas kulit dan barang kulit yang berlokasi di Bandung. Pada proses pembuatan tas kulit terdapat masalah material kulit yang mengalami kerusakan dan tidak efektifnya metode yang digunakan pada proses splitting kulit. Tujuan dari penulisan karya akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui penyebab permasalahan kecacatan material kulit pada proses splitting serta memberikan solusi untuk penyelesaiannya. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, praktek kerja langsung, studi pustaka dan internet. Berdasarkan analisis serta beberapa metode yang digunakan, penulis menemukan penyebab permasalahan kerusakan material kulit yang terdapat dalam proses splitting kulit, yaitu penggunaan mesin seset untuk membelah material kulit sehingga menyebabkan ketebalan kulit tidak sama dan lubang pada material kulit. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut penulis menyarankan untuk perusahaan agar melakukan pengadaan mesin pembelah kulit untuk meningkatkan efektifitas dan efisiensi produksi perusahaan. CV. Drussa is a company making leather bag and other leather stuffs located in Bandung. In process of making leather bag there is a problem with leather material, i.e. damaged and ineffective method used in the process of leather splitting. The objective of this study is to know the cause of the problem and to give its solution. The method of data collection are observation, interview, documentation, and library study. Based on analy and several methods used, the researcher found the cause of leather material damage in the process of leather splitting, it is because of the use of skiving machine to split leather material. To overcome that problem, the researcher suggested the company to buy such leather splitting machine to increase the effectivity and efficiency of company production.
