Abstract

This final project is based on the implementation of industrial work practice activities at PT Daimatu Industry Indonesia, located in Pasuruan, East Java. PT Daimatu Industry Indonesia is a company engaged in the footwear industry that focuses on the design and production of sandals. The problem raised is the discovery of over cementing in the gluing process of the upper components of the Indosole Slide sandal model at PT Daimatu Industry Indonesia. The purpose of this final project is to find the cause and solution to the problem of over cementing in the upper. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during the industrial internship at PT Daimatu Industry Indonesia. In the problem solving stage, the author conducted an experimental method. The results of the study showed that the main causes of over cementing include ineffective work methods, inappropriate machine speeds, and the absence of written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The proposed solutions are to clean the glue machine wheel regularly and set the machine speed at an optimal level of 325. The researcher also recommends the preparation of clear and detailed written SOP to ensure consistent work performance and improve production quality.
