Abstract

The industrial sector always strives to improve performance including ensuring quality by using quality control method. PT Sejin Fashion Indonesia is an industrial company that produces shoes that prioritizes product quality. During the internship, the author conducted observations for 6 months in the purchasing division from October 2024 to April 2025. Based on the observations, the author found problems that occurred in outsole rejects, which are airholes, material damage, different colours, and dirty components. The purpose of this research is to provide problem solving suggestions as an effort to control the quality of the outsole procurement process at PT Sejin Fashion Indonesia. This research begins with data collection by conducting observation, interviews, documentation and literature reviews both offline and online. The data processing method for quality control uses Statistical Process Control (SPC). From the analysis using check sheets, Pareto diagrams, and control chart diagrams, the main problem was airholes defect from HSK supplier. Furthermore, a cause-and-effect analysis was carried out using a fishbone diagram. The results of the analysis using fishbone showed that the problem was caused by method factors, namely the procurement process was not optimal. Based on the analysis, improvements are proposed to reduce defects by making outsole material procurement time management more efficient, providing detailed outsole material specifications, and providing a quality analysis form.
